Publishing Posts

A piece of cake! Login with your user and pwd from TripShake Magazine’s home page, then click on Write and you’ll be redirected to the authoring area of the magazine.

In this page you’ll have to fill in the following areas:

  • Title
  • Text
  • Category (just one!)
  • Tags

Uploading the opening picture

We’ve implemented a script that automatically crops and resizes the opening pictures, so that the Magazine’s look and feel is consistent and appealing. Follow these steps to upload the picture you’ve chosen for your article:

  1. Upload you picture using “Add an Image” button on the Upload/Insert menu, under the title area
  2. Click on “Select Files” and point to the image file on your computer (remember: it has to be 500px width)

That’s it! Our engine will automatically crop and link the picture you uploaded. Don’t forget to write, at the end of your post, the credits for that photo. Include also a link to the original Flickr page if that’s the case.

Text

If you don’t want to write directly online, please use Notepad (Win) or Textedit (Mac). Avoid using Microsoft Word and other Rich Text editors as they screw up the formatting code once pasted.

Once you’re working online, format the text as you wish using bold, italic, lists and paragraphs, which are automatically created when you hit return.

Please refrain to use colors, fonts and alignments different from the default ones. We want our Magazine to look consistent to our readers.

Publishing

Use the “Preview” button to see how your post will look once published, if you’re happy with it and done editing press “Publish”.

The article won’t be immediately online. We will schedule it to go online following our publishing plan, which has been developed to guarantee maximum visibility of your content to readers and search engines.
