Editorial rules
(Pst, first time here? Welcome!)
Post formatting
Posts have to start with a relevant picture and should contain an average of 300 words. Always remember to select only one category per post.
If you’re reposting a content you had already published elsewhere, you can cut and paste your original HTML code to save time. Before publishing, please be sure to upload any photos contained in the original post on TripShake magazine, to avoid hot-linking.
Photo policy
At TripShake we value and respect other’s work. That’s why we ask you to use only photos you own or photos by others that have been published with a Creative Commons license that allow commercial use.
You can use Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/search/advanced/) to find lots of freely distributable quality photos. And while you’re at it, hop in the TripShake group as well
The picture that precedes your post needs to look good. Being of fixed width of 500px, we need it to be a professional photo. You’re very welcome to add your own photos in the blog post, but if you don’t have a high-quality picture, please use Flickr and find a Creative Commons licensed photo to go as opening of your article. This will increase the odds people will read your whole post!
Post style
As a blogger, you probably know all this already, but it could be useful to add a little advice:
- Start with a short paragraph that sum-up the content of the post, allowing readers to grasp immediately what you’re going to talk about in the rest of the post.
- Be concise: if you think there’s more to know to understand the rest of your post link and external source.
- Divide your text in short paragraphs, so that your text looks light and readable
- Highlight in bold the 3-4 relevant keywords. This catches reader’s eye and allows them to skim the text quickly to find what they’re looking for.
