Here’s what she said:

Glendine Country House is a gorgeous, historic Georgian manor. Full of antiques, the interior is like stepping back in time and the atmosphere is inviting and comfortable. We loved the warm welcome from the owner with fresh scones and tea. This is a huge property so there is room for kids to run around outside, as well as a kids play area and animals that they can feed. It is a ferry ride from Waterford with easy access to area sights.

Rates start at 190€ night for a family of 4. Read the complete family-friendly hotel review on Ciao Bambino.

Here’s what the family that stayed there had to say:

I’ve never experienced a hotel that is so beautiful and stylish, yet child-friendly. The service at this hotel is incredible and the staff went out of their way to help us in every respect. Rooms are bright, cheerful, and are decorated in a fun and funky style that our baby loved – even the cot is bright colored and gorgeous. Room have a sink, fridge, and stove that are good for simple meals although the restaurant is excellent and flexible about meal times which makes it relaxing for everyone.

Paris has many wonderful parks to experience with kids. One of my favorite places to explore is the Place des Vosges in the Marais (4th arrondissement). This 17th century square has gorgeous architecture surrounding a grassy garden. When this sun is shining, this green space is filled with families enjoying the magnificent setting.

If you’re staying in Paris with young children and cannot rent an apartment (many have minimum stay requirements) and/or want hotel services and amenities, Pavillon de La Reine is a wonderful option and is part of this historic square. The décor of the 56-room boutique hotel is upscale, but not stuffy, and there are a number of good room configurations for families including duplex rooms and suites. While the ambiance inside the hotel is quiet, the beauty is that you are only steps away from a space for kids to run and play. There is also an endless array of cafes and restaurants in Marais and I love the lively neighborhood vibe of this area. The trade-off is that this location is a bit removed from some of the main tourist sights in Paris, but the Metro is only a short walk away.

From the moment we drove into Borgo Santo Pietro in Tuscany, we knew we were someplace very special. Although we were there in mid-October, the grounds were still lush and wonderfully manicured with gorgeous foliage everywhere. I can only image how incredible the property looks now that spring is here!

I was speechless when I entered the main 13th century villa for the first time. No detail has been overlooked in the magnificent interior—the ambiance is exquisitely old-world, yet friendly and intimate. Every guest suite has been custom designed and includes the latest modern gadgets like hidden flat-screen TVs and personal iPods.

Despite the luxurious and romantic ambiance, Borgo Santo Pietro is still amazingly kid-friendly. This is in part due to the fact that the owner has a toddler of her own and wants to host families. Consequently, the property features amenities and services to make families comfortable including a playground and football/soccer field. There is no structured children’s program, but there are endless outdoor sports opportunities including swimming, fishing, hiking, walking, and biking.

The service level is closer to staying at someone’s private villa than a hotel—this is a big part of why the property works for families. Meals can be taken anywhere and quite simply, the staff will do whatever they can to make every member of the family comfortable. The food is creative and delicious—most of the produce is grown in their enormous, onsite organic garden.
